In honor of Memorial Day, I thought I’d share this article from the darling Lily Fink Harrington of www.acharmedwife.com on what foods not to serve at your wedding. Holiday picnics like Memorial Day sometimes give me the heebie-jeebies — especially when I see things like potato salad or anything mayo-based left outside to bake in the sun. Not healthy, people!!
Here Lily gives suggestions for 7 Foods Not to Serve at A Wedding and I definitely agree — just because you’re super adventurous when it comes to food doesn’t mean your friends and family are — and raw food should be served with caution or with expert preparation (i.e. keep those oysters on the half shell on ice, and in the shade!!). And while you and your sweetie may both be vegans, chances are all 150 of your wedding guests may not love tofu as much as you do.
For some real-wedding inspiration, check out Lily’s wedding on www.marthastewart.com – she used to work for Martha and WOW this wedding is so beautiful it hurts! I grew up in the area so it of course makes me double swoon.
One of my favorite details was how each table had its own unique china pattern. Love!! These plates are just exquisite.
Wishing you and your family a happy and healthy Memorial Day!
